The Day of Love
2022
Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays to design for, and in 2022, I created a collection of 22 unique greeting card designs that reflect my passion for bringing people closer. These cards, available on juplusdesign.com and in eight retail stores nationwide, stand out from traditional designs with their trendy, bold, and explicit messaging that grabs attention. I wanted to encourage everyone to reconnect with their loved ones through the power of handwritten notes—small, meaningful gestures that truly matter.
I meticulously planned the campaign months in advance to ensure every aspect aligned with my vision and business goals, spanning across multiple channels. To enhance the Valentine's Day experience, I curated three custom playlists available on Spotify and Apple Music, adding a personal soundtrack to the season of love. The campaign launched on January 11th and concluded with a pop-up shop at Social Status in Houston on February 12th, bringing the experience to life for our community just in time for Valentine’s Day.

JU + DESIGN acquired 8 new stockists to their wholesale account roster who sold greeting cards from this collection.
Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen BRAND PARTNERSHIP
JU + DESIGN's partnership with Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen began in December 2021 with greeting cards from the holiday collection. JU + DESIGN was the first vendor Hilltop decided to partner with by carrying JU + DESIGN greeting cards in their 3 locations (Eagle Rock, Inglewood, and Slauson). All cards sold out within the first week on the market. prompting Hilltop management to purchase more their upcoming event with Air Jordan on Friday, February 11, 2022.
iNFLUENCER MARKETING + GIFT BOXES
Valentine's Day gift boxes were curated for ten influencers. Each gift box included 5-8 greeting cards that meshed well with the personalities of the individuals chosen and sealed with a handwritten message from me on a JU + DESIGN notecard.

For this year's Valentine's Day content rollout, I used Hootsuite, which is a content scheduler that allows story and feed automated posting on Instagram. I first organized all my final files in Adobe Illustrator with a grid to get a consistent feel and aesthetically pleasing Valentine's Day themed feed. I began posting on January 10th and ended on February 14th.

Valentine's replacing the V with G equals Galentine, a term created by women to celebrate the love we share with our homegirls for the day of love. I had to make a card dedicated to the women who have not found true love yet but still want to uplift each other until they do. The card mimics a text thread, and the inspiration for the card came from the explicit song "Act Up" by the city girls, whose lyrics start with "Real a$$ b—h give a f—k about a n—a," which I included on this card. Even though it is a few years old, the song is still catchy and holds weight, especially within the black community. I predicted this card would be a top seller (#2 in overall sales) so to toll out a short form video was a must to promote the card even further. To top off the rollout for the Galentine's day text thread card, I curated a Galentine's playlist specifically for the women available on Spotify and Apple Music.

Pop-up at Social Status
Social Status HTX team reached out to JU + DESIGN to do a Valentine's Day pop-up shop with my greeting cards. I curated my area to be all things lovely-dovey with decorations, custom made cookies, a writing station for the cards, cocktails, drinks, and a live DJ in the mix to top off the experience.
